Welcome to Nedlands RUFC – the undisputed Champions of West Australian Rugby!   In the words of club legend Rex Julian, You bloody beauty! Nedlands is again the undisputed Champion of WA rugby after completing a rare clean-sweep of the three top grades in the 2010 Perth club competition.Nedlands defeated Cottesloe to win both the 1st and 2nd Grade Grand Finals, having also defeated Kalamunda to win the 3rd Grade Black premiership. It was a rare “three-peat” last achieved by Neddies more than a decade ago back in 1999.The 1st Grade victory, headed by inspirational skipper Joe “Peanut” Richie, continued a remarkable record for Neddies which has seen the club make the finals of the WA competition for 28 years in a row. The 1st Grade premiership flag was the 16th won by the Royal Blues since 1940. What’s more, all six senior Nedlands teams, from the Under-20s up, made the finals in their respective grades in the 2010 season. Nedlands also continues to have a vibrant feeder system through its Junior ranks, fielding teams from the Under-6s up. The foundations of Nedlands’ success have always been built on coaching excellence and a strong management and committee structure.While proud of its history, it has never been the Nedlands ethos to simply be content with past achievements. That is why we look forward to the 2011 season with the same passion to succeed which has made Neddies a true sporting institution in Perth since the club was founded back in 1934.So if you would like to be part of the Neddies success story, we’d love to have you on board in 2011. Apart from new players, Neddies always extends a warm welcome to new coaches, managers, administrators, volunteers, committee members and, of course, supporters.
