Nedlands RUFC - Volunteer Management Program

Dear Parents and Supporters

Nedlands Rugby Union Football Club is currently establishing a Volunteer Management Program with the assistance of RugbyWA.

We have  established  a steering commitee within the club but currently have no members within that group representing the Nedlands Juniors. A number of workshops have already been held with RugbyWA and participants from Nedlands Rugby Club.

Below is a letter from RugbyWA with clear information about the program and its benefits along with the mission statement and 4 of 8 goals that have been identified as the starting point for the program at Nedlands. A couple of clubs are already into their first and second year of the program and are already showing significant improvement in volunteer recruitment and rentention along with improved success on and off the field.

We see this as a great opportunity to properly achieve our first four goals before the end of this season with a maximum of 2 to 3 hour weekly commitment that will have us moving futher ahead as a club next season.

Further information on the program can be found in the strategy document below, and if you wish to help out then please print off the skills form and fill it in and hand it to anyone of the coordinators.

Look forward to hearing from you very soon

RUGBY WA Volunteer Management Program

In 2004, Rugby WA commenced implementing through the funding assistance of the Department of Sport and Recreation and the Rio Tinto Future Fund, the Volunteer Management Program (VMP).  To those clubs that have already started the program we hope you are experiencing the REAL benefits that it can produce for Volunteer recruitment and retention within your club and how you operate your club.

RugbyWA will be involved in taking this program further and it will be linked into our Volunteer Recognition program and strategic planning for 2006 and beyond. RugbyWA feels it is important that all of its stakeholders embrace this program and look at the benefits it will provide your club.

Volunteers are the life blood of club rugby and without them clubs will not survive. These are exciting times for Rugby within Western Australia and a great opportunity has presented itself to see the growth of the sport. We ask that you support the VMP and what Rugby WA has to offer through this program.

RugbyWA looks forward in working with your Volunteer Coordinators in the near future and is contactable at Rugby WA on 9387 0720 or email daniel.cockburn@rugbywa.com.au in regards to further information on this program.
